Standard configuration FN High Power pistol as used by the West German police with internal extractor and thumbprint slide, circa 1950s, cal. 9mmP, SN: 55504, with 4.6-inch barrel, fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE” over “BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE”. Usual Belgian proofs on the left side of the slide, left side of the frame and exposed barrel hood, the latter additionally marked with the caliber 9mmP. Fully matched with serial number on the right side of the slide and frame, internally marked on the left side of the barrel hood. Checkered wooden grips with smooth recessed border, reddish-orange painted inner surface. Magazine with aluminum follower, blued body marked with a boxed “2” and black painted button-retained floorplate. HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINE RESTRICTION!
Condition:
Excellent original rust blue finish with a fine scratch on the left side of the slide and faint holster wear to include a spot on the crest on the top of the slide and thinning at the bottom of the backstrap. Negligible thinning/handling marks on frontstrap. Comparable condition grips. VG/EXC magazine with insertional wear. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics.
