Description:
Stunning as new FN High Power pistol presented to notable journalist covering the Iraqi war in the early 1990s. This pistol, one of a pair, in absolutely new condition, has the top of its slide marked with the Iraqi crest. The pistol with painted finish has the usual two-line FN legend referencing the manufacturer and location in Herstal, Belgium, on the left side of the slide. The exposed barrel hood is marked with the caliber and the full SN that is repeated on the adjacent slide and front strap. Fitted with black plastic checkered panels, the left side recessed for the lanyard ring. Late production magazine with phosphated body and detachable button-secured floorplate. Complete with earlier vintage black plastic/brass zipper pouch and original signed and notarized document detailing the history of this gun and its presentation from Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in 2005.
Condition:
As new in earlier vintage Browning pouch with brass zipper. Complete with original signed and notarized statement from the receiving journalist detailing the circumstances of his presentation, the gun, cited by serial number, having been presented by the new President of Iraq, Jalal Talabani, when visiting U.S. President George Bush in September 2005 via official delegation.
