The Glock 45 was introduced in late 2018 as a 9x19mm \"Compact Crossover\". It pairs the full-size frame of a Glock 17 (holding 17 rounds) with the shorter slide and barrel of a Glock 19.
The G45 Release: In response, Glock officially released the G45 in the fall of 2018. It retained the 19X concept but incorporated standard Gen 5 features.Key Upgrades: Unlike the 19X, which featured a lanyard loop and a protruding \"lip\" on the front of the grip that prevented the use of some magazines, the G45 removed the lip to allow flush-fitting magazines. It also added front slide serrations and dropped the non-reloadable magazine cutout that was unpopular on early Gen 5 models.
