Controls & ergonomics
Grip: Very short—flush magazine leaves little pinky purchase. Backstraps (Gen4) help tune circumference. Many owners prefer extended magazines or +2 baseplates for better purchase.
Magazine release: Standard on older gens; Gen4 introduced a larger reversible release for left-handed operation.
Slide stop / takedown: Standard Glock layout and takedown procedure (field-strip identical to other Glocks).

Handling, accuracy & performance
Recoil & controllability: .40 S&W in a tiny, light platform is noticeably snappy — sharper impulse and more muzzle flip than larger/ heavier pistols. Gen4 dual-spring softens it somewhat, but expect more training required for fast, accurate follow-ups.
Accuracy: Adequate for defensive ranges (inside ~25 yards). Short sight radius limits precision at longer distances; the G27 is optimized for point-and-shoot self-defense.
Practical performance: Very good for close-quarters defensive use when the shooter trains for the platform’s characteristics.
