Description:
The Sig Trailside line of pistols was made by the famous Hammerli firm in Switzerland, well known for super-accurate and high-end rimfire target pistols.  They quickly earned a reputation for the being the most accurate semi-auto .22 caliber pistol that you could buy for around $400, regularly outperforming pistols that cost 3 times as much.  The reason for their success was the simple design made to exacting standards.  These pistols did not leave the Hammerli factory if they were not able to shoot 3/4" inch groups at 25 yards.  Easy to disassemble and clean, comfortable to shoot, and exceedingly accurate, the Trailside was definitely a success.  When Sig sold the Hammerli firm in 2003 and discontinued the Trailside these pistols became quite sought-after and collectible.  This particular example is a 4" inch "standard" model with drift adjustable sights and textured black plastic grips.  The barrel is grooved for tip-off style optic rings.  It comes with 2 factory magazines and a Sig box (not original to this pistol).  This Trailside is in excellent condition and appears to have been shot very little.  The factory finishes on this pistol rate 97%, with the only deductions coming from some handling marks on the bottom of the triggerguard and just a tiny touch of finish wear over the chamber on the barrel.  The bore is superb, mirror-bright with sharp rifling and no visible imperfections.  The original grips are like-new and spotless.  All of the controls on this Trailside are in perfect working order, and the action is smooth and precise.  The trigger is exceptional, breaking with a light pull with no grit or excessive over-travel (adjustable).  Both of the 10rd factory magazines are in excellent condition and 100% functional.  If you have been looking for a very lightly-used and clean Sig Trailside for your collection this 4" inch model would be a great choice.  We seldom see these pistols in any condition, much less as clean and nice as this one.
