Belgian REUNIES DICTATOR .25 ACP Semi-Auto Self-Defense POCKET Pistol C&R
Manufactured in the 1910s for “CONCEAL and CARRY”
Description: Belgian REUNIES DICTATOR .25 ACP Semi-Auto Self-Defense POCKET Pistol C&R Manufactured in the 1910s for “CONCEAL and CARRY” Here we present a C&R Belgian Dictator Semi-Automatic Pocket Pistol, also marketed under the name Centaure, made circa the 1910s in Liege, Belgium by Societe Anonyme des Fabriques d’Armes Reunies with a production run from 1910 through 1918 with very few produced. The Dictator was patented in 1909 by this company which was established solely to exercise this patent. The original designer of this little pistol is unknown. Production began in 1910, but despite being a unique design, it sold poorly in an already overcrowded pocket pistol market and production was discontinued in 1918. Surviving examples, like this one, are extremely rare making them very hard to come by. This semi-auto pistol was the first pistol to utilize a tubular receiver which contained a “wrap around” style telescoping bolt rather than a conventional hammer and slide. It was the first pistol to use this type of bolt. Though this design was unique, it offered no clear advantage over the existing designs of the era. This would have been a neat little pocket pistol that would have been very easy to “conceal and carry” during the tumultuous times of the Roaring Twenties and beyond! The overall condition is good. Strong action. Semi-bright bore, slight pitting. Original finish. Clear and legible markings. Both grips are in good shape and contain average handling wear. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 2-3/8 inches. Caliber: .25 ACP Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #217881 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
