ENGRAVED Antique NOCK .46 Caliber PERCUSSION Boxlock “Pocket” Pistol LONDON Marked with BIRMINGHAM PROOFS
Description: ENGRAVED Antique NOCK .46 Caliber PERCUSSION Boxlock “Pocket” Pistol LONDON Marked with BIRMINGHAM PROOFS Here we present a small antique Nock of London Percussion Pocket Pistol, made circa the 1840s in Birmingham, England. This was likely manufactured by Samuel Nock, who was the nephew of famed innovative gunmaker Henry Nock and apprenticed under him. He was also an accomplished gunmaker and worked through the transitional period from flintlocks to percussion systems. He served as a royal gunmaker to the English monarchy from King George III in 1805 up to Queen Victoria starting in 1837. He died in 1851. This one looks to have began life as a flintlock before it was updated to the percussion system. The frizzen was pared down to what you see here and might have been intended to help extract a spent percussion cap. The barrel turns off for loading that did not require a rammer. The trigger folds out when the hammer is cocked for streamlined carry in the pocket. The overall condition is very good. Gray patina. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and patinated. The grip is solid. There are initials, something like “RC”, on the initial placard on the top of the grip. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 1-5/8 inches. Caliber: .46 percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1050 #226061 SOLD Antique: Yes |
