"Incredibly Rare Mauser C96 Flatside Large Ring Carbine (AL10129)
Description: "Serial number 233. Made in 1898. 7.63 Mauser caliber with a 11 ½" barrel. This is truly one of the great rarities in automatic pistol collecting. The gun is in excellent condition with 98% of the origina; blue on the gun. The metal at the stock has approximately 60% of its originall blue. This gun is retailer marked “VON LENGERKE/ & DETMOLD/ NEW – YORK" By the Von Lengerke retailer marking are the initials “J.G.H." in cursive script. This gun is all matching. The stock is excellent and matching to the gun. The gutta percha butt plate has the Intertwined WM monogram which signifies Waffen Fabrique Mauser. This is a flatside large ring hammer variation. This exact gun is pictured on page 199 of the book THE BROOMHANDLE PISTOL 1896-1936 by Wayne R. Erickson and Charles E Pate. This gun at the time was in the Joe Richards collection.
