Single Shot Percussion Pistol Made Circa the Mid-1800s

Here we present an antique M. Leuner Percussion Pistol, made circa the mid-1800s. This pistol features a large .54 caliber “manstopping” bore that would have been worn on the belt or holstered as it was possibly carried into battle. This is a neat old pistol and one can easily imagine the sight of its gaping bore would certainly be a deterrent to would be scoundrels.

The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. Bright bore with deep grooves. Wonderful walnut stock/grip with tight grains, a small stable crack is present on the right side of the fore end. Two stable repairs around the barrel pin. Sharp markings. The ramrod is absent. Two “Crown/V” German proofs are located atop the barrel. Half octagon, half round barrel with a ring-like muzzle.
