Luger 1902 Carbine - FACTORY 97%, MATCHING NUMBERS BUTT STOCK, RARE GUN! - vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Luger, Year 1903, .30 Luger Serial Number: 24116 Here we have a commercial DWM produced Luger 1902 Carbine with the matching buttstock and all matching numbers. THIS IS A FACTORY ORIGINAL, HIGH CONDITION Imperial Era Luger with all 1902 pattern features. The metal retains 97% of the original rust blue finish, and there is a good amount of straw color left on the appropriate parts. The rifling is strong and there is only a hint of corrosion in the bore, no real pitting but not mirror bright either. The wood finish is original as is the checkering on forend and grips. The buttstock is in excellent condition with numerous shallow handling marks and the original horn buttplate showing a few worm holes that always exist on a 115-year-old horn buttplate. This super-cool handgun/carbine, sn24116, was made between 1902 and 1904 and is chambered in .30 Luger, or 7.65mm and did not see a lot of use. The fine existing condition shows it was well cared for along the way. The magazine is nickel plated with the wood end cap without a serial number, which is proper for this 1902 Pattern Luger. There is a strong collector interest in these early commercial Lugers, especially when found with all matching numbers and strong original finish. We would build a presentation case for the new owner out of fine walnut and French fit the interior to the gun for those that would like to see this gun in a presentation style case and would do so for a very reasonable cost and timeline. What a great piece of gun history, to own an iconic Luger Carbine in this kind of condition…a great pinnacle to any collector of German pistols and Lugers in particular. They only made 2500 total 1902 Carbines and it is estimated that less than 20% still have the proper buttstock and fewer yet have the combination of all the correct parts and high factory original condition. This is not an opportunity that you will want to miss! Please note that this gun is priced to sell. Don’t hesitate or she will be gone. Thanks for looking!
