Synopsis: Mauser, C96, WWI, Standard Wartime Commercial Pistol, Military accepted, 7.63mm, 342179, FB00829 Description: Wartime Standard Commercial C96 caliber 7.63mm with 5.5" barrel, fixed front sight, and slip-in 50-1000 rear sight. Short extractor, two lug firing pin, SR hammer. Mauser address on top of chamber, full serial number on left chamber flat. C/C/U on left side of barrel extension; Imperial acceptance on right side. Two line Mauser address on right side of frame. Serrated walnut grips, lanyard ring present. Disassembly shows all matching serial numbers including the grips. Condition: VG original finish with thinning and patchy discoloration as one might expect from a pistol that has been used through much of WWI. Comparable condition fire blued parts with extensive fading over cusor and bolt stop, none showing any suggestion of enhancement. Dark oil soaked grips with scattered handling marks and blunted serrations. Dull etched bore with easily discernable rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A nice representative C96 that was used by German Military in WWI. ~~Insured shipping fee of $55; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~
