Sauer 1926 Export Model, 7.65mm (.32acp), Excellent Condition, Original Magazine
Description: Offered for sale is one (1) Sauer 1926 Export Model, 7.65mm, (.32acp), S/N168457 on left frame exterior above grip, correct and original magazine, overall excellent condition rating approximately 96%+. Very small chip in bottom of left grip, see picture looking a magazine in gun. Bore is clean and bright. Internal assembly number stamped on inside of frame backend is "2524". This assembly number, "2524" is stamped on the underside of the slide front, the inside of the slide cap, last 3 digits, "524" on the breechblock, and "24" on the firing pin. The name, Sauer 1926 Export Model comes from actual Sauer factory records found in the Suhl Archive. An interim pistol produced during 1926 to early 1929 period. This was an advancement of the normal 1913 design, which included changes in: (1) safety lever's design that became a slide hold open device as well; (2) shape of the frame was altered in that the trigger guard became more streamlined and the rear of frame was shortened and serrations were added to the slide as well as cocking knob. In 1926 the safety lever was provided with a nose which is used to lock the slide in its rear position. The slide catch in the trigger guard is eliminated (as the slide is now held open by the nose of the safety lever). The internal lockwork is identical to the Model 1913, Variant 3. The frame retains the square-cut grip of the Model 1913; however the trigger guard is now oval shaped, rather than round, and its bottom runs parallel with the slide. The serrations extend from the screw cap onto the slide. Early grips were like the Model 1913 variant 3, but later, the hard rubber grips show the word “Sauer” in a rectangle at the top and “Cal. 7,65” in a rectangle at the bottom. Author and Sauer researcher, Jim Cate, whose work can be found both online and in a two book publication on Sauer, has determined the production begins at 160,000 and continued to 171,450. That would indicate that approximately 11,500 Export pistols were made by Sauer. One could conside that amount of production scarce. For sale in the lower 48 states USA, shipping INCLUDED. If AK, will advise on shipping. I ship through a local dealer, so once payment is received and clears, they will contact you for the license or your license dealer. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
