Very Nice .22 LR Rimfire Single Shot Pistol

Here we present an Hy Hunter of Hollywood Tip-Up .22 Rimfire Single Shot Target Pistol, made circa 1970 in West Germany. This was a direct 20th Century copy of the Stevens Tip-Up series of pistols, which originated circa 1864, during the American Civil War. This pistol features an 8-inch bull barrel with a hooded front sight. These are a delight to shoot with their affordable ammunition, nice balance, and crisp trigger.

The left side of the barrel is marked “HY HUNTER INC. FIREARMS MFG. CO./HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. MADE IN WEST GERMANY”. The serial number is “00374”.
The overall condition is very fine. Nice blue finish on the barrel and case colors on the hammer. The action is robust. The bore is mirror bright. Both grips are in excellent shape with sharp checkering. This example is tight at the hinge! The nickel finish remains reflective throughout. Here is a fantastic West German target pistol with California roots at a fantastic price!
