Description:
.32-20, #40523, 4 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, 2 piece walnut grips, stamped on top of barrel "American cartridges are those/ that fit best the Alfa Revolvers", comes with Schoelkopf holster, 1920's.
After the turn of the 20th century, S&W M&P's and hand ejectors were a big enough hit to draw knock-offs. Spain was always a center of firearms manufacture and took advantage of S&W's popularity. Many outfits put out copies, some ok, some not so much. Armero Especialistas Reunidas of Eibar, Spain made some of the better looking copies. They were marketed by a German company under the name Alfa. They look enough like S&W's to be mistaken for one, but shooting one is a different story. This could be a non-shooting addition to an early S&W collection for comparison..
Condition: operates DA and SA but has really heavy trigger pull, strength of steel questionable, cylinder stick when swinging out, very good grips, very good marks..
