The VP9 is Heckler & Koch‚s signature pistol designed for use with professionals and has been awarded official certification from the NIJ through their Compliance Testing Program through rigorous testing. The pistol features a striker indicator for easy condition identification along with rear rack notches for more positive grip on the slide when racking under high-stress situations. Interchangeable 3-part grip panels allow for up to 27 different grip combinations to custom-tune the pistol to the user. The VP9L features a long ported slide with an extended barrel for significantly improved shooting performance and handling.

This model features an optic-ready cut on the slide along with an all-black finish. Two 10-round magazines are included. This model is approved for sale in The State of California and includes a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator.
