Here we present a High Standard “Model H-B” Semi-Automatic Pistol, made circa 940 in New Haven, Connecticut. The High Standard Mfg. Co. was officially founded in 1926 and in 1932 it moved to a bigger plant in Hamden, Conn., where production began. The Model H-B is a .22 long rifle, semi-automatic pistol. The pistol features a blued 6-3/4 inch barrel, frame, and action with brown plastic checkered grips. The barrel is marked "High Standard Mfg. Corp. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A.” and is marked to the right “Model H-B".

High Standard’s production over the years has been vast and has a reputation for both reliability and accuracy. Over time, it mainly produced handguns, including plinkers, target guns, long and short barrels, as well as serious competition pieces. If you’ve ever heard the term “space gun”, odds are good that they were talking about High Standard.

The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Excellent action. Bright, strongly rifled bore. Both grips are in fine shape with sharp handling. Markings are legible.
