PLINKER with Reputation for RELIABILITY & ACCURACY
Description: 1950 mfr. HIGH STANDARD “Model G-B” .22 LR RF Semi-Auto TARGET Pistol C&R PLINKER with Reputation for RELIABILITY & ACCURACY
Here Ancestry Guns presents a High Standard “Model G-B” Semi-Automatic Pistol, made circa 1950 in New Haven, Connecticut. The Model G-B was very similar to the Model B. It was introduced in 1949 and discontinued in 1950 with a total of only 4900 produced. The High Standard Mfg. Co. was officially founded in 1926 and in 1932 it moved to a bigger plant in Hamden, Conn., where production began. This Model G-B is a .22 long rifle, semi-automatic pistol. The pistol features a blued 6-3/4 inch barrel, frame, and action with brown plastic checkered grips.
High Standard’s production over the years has been vast and has a reputation for both reliability and accuracy. Over time, it mainly produced handguns, including plinkers, target guns, long and short barrels, as well as serious competition pieces. If you’ve ever heard the term “space gun”, odds are good that they were talking about High Standard.
