High Standard Model B "Property of U.S." chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This "Trapper's & Target Pistol" was manufactured by the High Standard Manufacturing Company in New Haven, Connecticut. This semi-automatic pistol has a reputation for quality and extreme reliability. It has a round 4 1/2-inch barrel and fixed sights. This pistol has had the front sight ground off. The blued finish is worn, and the pistol shows signs of hard use. The grips are sound, and the bore is excellent. Functions fine. The Hi-Standard Model B was widely used by the US Navy for service weapons training and was issued to the US military for training purposes. Approximately 14,000 of these were produced for the US government. These pistols are marked "Property of US" and are known for their effectiveness in training soldiers to use the 1911A1 service pistol. Includes 1 mag. No box. .22 Long Rifle
