Description:

This is one of the last Olympic variations made by High Standard between 1969-1971, one of only 807 guns, just before High Standard did its final parts cleanup that eventually morphed into the 1980 Olympic Commemoratives. This example is particularly noteworthy in having a strikingly plum colored slide rather than the usual black anodizing. Left side marked with caliber and model; right side marked with serial number, model, and manufacturer address. Very unusual to find one of these pistols, with its thin counterweights and flat bases, complete in its original matching shipping box. No literature.

Condition:

EXC+ with just the most minimal muzzle wear on the right side. Leading edge of the forward counterweight is comparably thinned. No thinning of front/back strap. Crisp grips with sharp checkering. VG/EXC matching box. A wonderful ensemble reflecting one of the scarcest Olympic variations that should appeal to any High Standard collector and connoisseur of fine target pistols.
