Here we present a High Standard “Model B” Pistol, made circa 1940 in New Haven, Connecticut. The High Standard Mfg. Co. was officially founded in 1926 and in 1932 it moved to a bigger plant in Hamden, Conn., where production began. The Model B is a .22 long rifle rimfire, semi-automatic pistol. The pistol features a blued 6-3/4 inch barrel, frame, and action with brown hard rubber checkered grips.

High Standard’s production over the years has been vast and has a reputation for both reliability and accuracy. Over time, it mainly produced handguns, including plinkers, target guns, long and short barrels, as well as serious competition pieces. These were great for the woods or the range!

The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The action is excellent and crisp. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling; there is a very slight ring in the bore about 4” away from the muzzle. The grips are solid with sharp checkering. The leather holster is in great shape and fits the pistol perfectly. The factory box matches the serial number of the gun and has a lot of tape around the edges but is still a nice thing to have and great for display!
