Description:
With a caliber of .about 64 cal, 7 1/8” smooth bore barrels with oxidized bores. The metal surfaces show an old cleaning and have mostly toned to pewter gunmetal and gray-brown patina with scattered oxidation and remnants of partially smoothed-over moderate old pitting overall, perhaps approaching heavy on the tight tube.. Simple brass fittings include the tailpipe, triggerguard, and buttcap with lanyard ring  attached with two btass brads.. The brass has also been cleaned and is partially bright, the tailpipe with an old repair. The checkered walnut stock remains in fair-good condition with moderate overall wear and flaking varnish, A plain steel ramrod is present, the right nipple is an old replacement and the locks are  functional. Yhis Howdah has seen much waer and possib;y shipped to Inias for Maharaja tiger hunting.No name or markings presentt and made for export from France, or possiblt Italy.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
