1917 mfr. WORLD WAR I Era GERMAN LUGER DWM P.08 9x19mm C&R Pistol WWI German Military Sidearm w/ 1915 Dated HOLSTER
Description: 1917 mfr. WORLD WAR I Era GERMAN LUGER DWM P.08 9x19mm C&R Pistol WWI German Military Sidearm w/ 1915 Dated HOLSTER Here we present a World War I Era DWM P.08 German Luger Pistol, made circa 1917 by DWM in Berlin, Germany. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars. This piece has the original proofs of Imperial Germany from the Great War years. It also has a Crown “RC”. The front strap of the grip frame has not one, but two crossed out unit markings. The second is legible as “P.C.492.”. They did a good job of marking out the other old marking. “S.85” remains clear and unstruck. This pistol obviously served during the Great War and then was reworked, receiving the sear safety. It is very likely that this pistol was still in service during the Second World War and brought home as a trophy by a US GI as there are no import markings. The holster is an original 1915 dated piece by Julius Jansen of Strassburg. The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. Good bore for the age and use: strong rifling with a patina within. The grips are in good shape. Modern magazine. Numbers match otherwise. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: 9x19mm Luger Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2915 #217936 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
