Inter-WORLD WARS Luger Pistol by DWM of Berlin
Description: Inter-WORLD WARS Luger Pistol by DWM of Berlin Chambered for the Original Luger Cartridge Here we present a DWM Inter-World War Luger Pistol, made circa the 1920s in Berlin, Germany. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars. This DWM Inter-War Luger Pistol was made for export from Germany, quite likely to the United States. It was made of existing parts that would have gone into making a military sidearm during WWI had the war continued. DWM, in order to stay alive in some of the toughest economic conditions following the war, built pistols using new old stock and new stock parts to sell commercially both inside and outside Germany. This pistol features a military style number of “3508 o” on the barrel and frame. The rest of the numbering is of the commercial style, which is to say discrete. Commercial German proof marks “Crown/N” are found throughout. “GERMANY” is stamped on the front of the frame, which is another indicator that this was exported to the US. It was chambered for the original “Luger” cartridge, the .30 Luger or 7.65x21mm Parabellum, which is a great cartridge still available today. The overall condition is good. The steel surfaces show some light pitting, especially on the left side of the pistol. The original blue finish is about 40%. The markings are legible. The serial numbers match, with the exception of the WWII German military issue magazine. The grips are later and quite sharp and in great shape. The bore is very fine, sharp and bright. The action is excellent. Here is a Luger that was very popular for citizens of many countries during the 20s & 30s! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .30 Luger (7.65x21mm Parabellum) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1850 #6600 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
