High condition, collector grade Mauser Persian Artillery Luger rig, 9mmP, circa 1935-1936, unusual in having British proofs, all original and matching except the magazine. A wonderful opportunity to own one of the most charismatic Luger ensembles!
Description:
Mauser Persian Artillery P08 Luger, cal. 9mmP, production limited to 1000 pistols with delivery 1935-1936, this pistol and shoulder stock are fully matching except for the mismatched magazine. Standard configuration Artillery Luger with 8” barrel having a drift adjustable front sight and tangent rear sight marked with 8 Farsi digits. Persian crest over chamber with translated Mauser on front toggle link. Full serial number on forward frame and left side of barrel extension with last two digits on all usual small parts except barrel (properly unnumbered), grips (with inspection letters) and mismatched Persian magazine. Strawed takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and magazine release button. Checkered walnut grips and nickle bodied magazine with aluminum plug. British proofs on right side of barrel extension and under barrel. Complete with ORIGINAL MATCHING PERSIAN SHOULDER STOCK rig including cleaning rod, shoulder straps and double magazine pouch. NO US IMPORT MARKS!
Condition:
EXC- original finish rust blued pistol with sharp edge and holster wear as one might expect from a gun that has seen light use, the grip straps retaining the majority of their original finish. Strawed small parts in comparable condition, no suggestion of touch-up. Dark, oil stained grips, diamond flattening in contact areas, the right panel with two small bruises. Near mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics Shoulder stock rig in comparable/expected condition, oil darkening as imaged, the lid securing strap with considerable crazing, the obverse surface of the stock with scattered handing marks and a 1.5" gouge/loss along the lower edge. One of the better Persian Artillery rigs, unusual in having British proofs, all original and matching except the magazine, no US import marks, seldom offered for sale.
