Description: Synopsis: Mauser Persian Artillery Rig, #3651, FB00838 Description: Mauser Persian Artillery P08 Luger, production limited to 1000 pistols with delivery 1935-1936, this pistol is fully matching except the cursor "97", unnumbered grips and the mismatched magazine. Artillery Luger with 8” barrel having a drift adjustable front sight and tangent rear sight marked with 8 Farsi digits. Persian crest over chamber with translated Mauser on center toggle link. Full serial number on forward frame with last two digits on all usual small parts except barrel (properly unnumbered), grips and magazine. Strawed takedown lever, trigger, safety, and magazine release button. Checkered walnut grips and nickel bodied magazine with aluminum plug. Complete with original but mismatched Persian shoulder stock rig including take down tool, shoulder straps and double magazine pouch. Missing cleaning rod. Condition: VG pistol with original finish having sharp edge and holster wear as one might expect from a gun that has seen moderate use. Strawed and fire blued small parts show no enhancement. Very bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Comparable condition rig, the shoulder strap and boot strap are likely replacements as the leather is thicker than usual and there is no boot stop. A metal plate, likely added for ownership ID, mounted on the shoulder strap.
