RUSSIAN CAPTURED German P.08 LUGER 9x19mm Parabellum Pistol Banner 1939 C&R
With “EAGLE/K” Police Mark and “X” RUSSIAN CAPTURE Mark
Description: RUSSIAN CAPTURED German P.08 LUGER 9x19mm Parabellum Pistol Banner 1939 C&R With “EAGLE/K” Police Mark and “X” RUSSIAN CAPTURE Mark Here we present a C&R Mauser Banner P.08 Luger, made circa 1939. The top of the chamber is dated 1939 and it has the standard Mauser Banner trademark on the toggle. This is one of the earliest pistols to sport the Mauser Banner. Based on Hugo Borchardt’s novel design of a semi-automatic pistol, the “Luger” pistol was designed by Georg Luger, the man tasked with taking an awkward, cumbersome and expensive pistol and making it into one of the world’s most iconic firearms of all time. The Model P.08 was adopted by Germany and was used through both WWI and WWII. In the years prior to the pistol being made, the Mauser Banner didn’t appear on the handgun. Instead, interestingly, since the terms of the Treaty of Versailles only allowed the German Simson & Company to produce any of the few small arms granted Germany after World War I, arms production was done secretly at Mauser, among others. Dates were left off of the barrel until about 1936 when Germany’s arms production and military activities started to be brought into the light. This example bears the “EAGLE/SWASTIKA K” Police marking and once had the sear safety installed. The overall condition is good. This one was captured by the Soviets at the end of WWII as evidenced by the “X” marking on the left side of the gun. These typically display some mixed numbers as this one does. Import marked. The action is excellent. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling. The grips are worn and dark, and still solid. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4 inches in length. Caliber: 9mm Luger Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2100 #217908 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
