Scarce, Desirable, and All Matching 1916 dated DWM WWI Navy Luger, with correct magazine.
Description:
Scarce DWM 1916 Pattern Navy Luger, fewer than 8,000 completed, 9mmP, with 6? barrel having drift adjustable front sight over "1916" dated base and 100/200 meter āVā notch rear sight. Full serial number on forward frame with last few digits on all the usual parts to include takedown lever, trigger, sideplate, safety, hold open, barrel extension, all three parts of the toggle linkage, and both grips. Left side of barrel and barrel extension with customary Crown/M markings. This example marked "GERMANY" under the barrel reflecting a post war export. Fitted with a correct but mismatched Navy magazine whose base is marked with the Crown/M and "298". NOT IMPORT MARKED.
Condition:
VG original rust blue, approximately 80-85% coverage, with holster wear in expected places. Comparable condition strawed small parts, the safety lever having been arguably freshened. Grips oil darkened with blunted checkering, the left panel having the usual small chip adjacent to the safety lever. Comparable condition magazine. Bright bore, minimal etching, sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A very nice, original, and all matching 1916 dated DWM Navy Luger from WWI!
