**1911 Mfg** Pre-War Commercial Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" Pistol .30 Mauser
Description: This is a pre-war manufactured Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" pistol in .30 Mauser. It retains about 95% of the original blue finish, which is difficult to see as the pistol is covered in a varnish, with nice visible "fire blue" on the trigger, sight adjuster and extractor. The finish shows some minor wear on the rear grip straps as well as the high profile areas. The original Walnut grips are the proper 34 groove grips for pre-war C96 Commercial Models and are both serial numbered to the gun. This pistol is 100% original and all-matching. The 5.5" barrel has a fixed front sight and 1000 meter adjustable tangent rear sight. The bore in this Mauser is bright with strong rifling. Standard Mauser Oberndorf markings on top of chamber and right side of frame. Even though this iconic pistol was never formally adopted by any military, many model C96's were purchased by the German military during World War One and used for the duration of the war. The C96 Broomhandle was praised by both German and British officers alike, including Sir Winston Churchill, and have been in various military armories from Europe to the far East. The C96 was also favorited by many explorers during the 1900s through the late 1940s for its power and accuracy.
