C96 Cone hammer 7.63mm Mauser Broomhandle Pistol with all matching Part numbers including grips and Walnut Shoulder stock. Very Early Serial No.75xx.
This early Mauser 7.63mm "C96" Cone-hammer semi-automatic pistol retains all the original features you would expect to find on an Early pistol of this period. Excellent 23 line matching numbered walnut grips with matching numbered walnut shoulder stock. This pistol originates from South Africa and is Early Boer War Period. Regimental Arsenal store numbers have been added to the the r/h side upper frame. On the r/h side of the barrel almost half-way down is stamped W 1893 - Which possibly signifies a date.
Pistol has a frosted bore (not uncommon for this vintage error) with good barrel visible lands. 0riginal untouched Rust-blued upper & Lower frame, Peacock blue (nitre-blue) extractor,Rear sight assembly (graduated from 50 to 500m), Bolt stop, Dovetail firing-pin retainer, Safety lever, Magazine plunger, Lanyard ring. Straw to Trigger assembly, Lock - frame stop and firing pin end.
Pistol has some holster wear to the underside of the barrel. The shoulder stock has a lovely gold colour patina to the wood and is without any hairline cracks. The Stock lid shows a professional early repair. The Stock hinge-plate retains approx 90% -/+ of its original bluing.
An exceptionally nice collectors investment pistol. Early Mauser's were imported from Germany by "Westley Richards & Co Ltd" who retailed them to other British Gun-makers and onto military personnel serving in the far away colonies probably the most Famous of these being Winston Churchill and T.E. Lawrence or Lawrence of Arabia.
