Seller's Inventory #: PR56252
This Mauser 42 code with 41 chamber date comes with its matching magazine, the holster, an inspected tool, and aluminum base nonmatching magazine along with an interesting history. Enclosed in the holster was an old note reading ""Cortina N. Italy Maj. Hans Rohler surrendered this Luger to Rutherford Whidden Army SSgt."" It appears that the veteran wrote this identification and placed it with the pistol circa 1970 as the paper it is written on is copywrighted 70. The 4"" 9mm barrel has an excellent bore with bright rifling. The pistol retains approx. 92% blue with the grip straps fading. All parts are numbered to the pistol. The grips have the eagle over 655 acceptance stamp only on the inside of the panels. The grips are fine with light wear. The action functions properly. The brown holster is fine with tight stitching. It is marked on the rear dtu.41 along with an eagle over WaA163 inspection stamp. It is also marked to the right P08. This is a great rig with an interesting story.
