MAUSER ~ P.38 ~ 9MM PARABELLUM

Description:
The P.38 was the replacement for the P.08 Luger. It required a third less parts, and those didn't require as much precision. This one was manufactured in 1943 by the Mauser Factory (code-named "AC"). All the parts appear to have matching S/Ns, including the magazine. There are a number of pits in the metal, but it is hard to say whether they came from use or from the factory. Many of these were manufactured with less than perfect quality control. Later in the war, production speed took over from production quality. 9mm Parabellum
