The Swiss Commemorative is very seldom seen in the United States as most were purchased by Swiss nationals. As a private import, this extraordinary, as new example, is not import marked. Standard features included 4 5/8 in tapered barrel with drift adjustable front sight and the usual notched rear sight. Swiss cross in the sunburst on chamber. Middle toggle link marked “Original Mauser”. Left side of frame filled with gold inscription reflecting 75th year anniversary 1900-1975, in German. Pistol proofed 73. Usual E/N markings on left side of receiver and frame. Serial number on right side of receiver and frame with Mauser address on frontstrap. Green plastic hang tag numbered to pistol. Walnut checkered grips. Correct primary and spare magazine with Mauser logo on bottom spine. Wood case compartmentalized for a spare magazine, Mauser/marked take down tool, and brass cleaning rod. Includes original instruction booklet but no test target. Major components are bright polished and salt blued while usual small parts are strawed.
