Synopsis:
High condition, all matching, 1930 Commercial Mauser C96 pistol, cal. 7.63mm Mauser, with British proofing, early variation with 5.25-inch barrel, fluted rails, and small parts with peacock blue heat treated finish. Complete with correct, unnumbered Mauser Banner shoulder stock, this example with the super scarce military Eagle /Ka 30 acceptance.
Description:
Early configuration Mauser 1930 Commercial Broomhandle, British proofing under 5.25 inch barrel having fixed front sight and slip-in rear sight graduated from 50-1000 meters. Short extractor, two-lug firing pin, universal safety. Three-line Mauser address on top chamber flat, crown/crown U on left flat, full serial number on left side of barrel extension. Fat Mauser banner on left frame panel. Right side of frame marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER / OBERNDORF A. NECKAR / D.R.P.u.A.P." Major parts finished with a high polish salt blue, small parts heat treated to a fire blue. Fitted with broadly serrated walnut panels. Original lanyard ring present. Complete with correct Mauser Banner shoulder stock with unnumbered square shoulder lug, this stock unusual in having a "Eagle /Ka 30" military proof below the Mauser banner.
Condition:
Near EXC, all matching pistol with bright original salt blue finish with sharp edge wear in the usual locations, a noticeable scratch at the bottom of the magazine floorplate. Comparable condition fading of the fire blued parts, particularly over the crest of the sight cursor and bolt stop. Grips retaining the majority of their lightly applied finish with a scattering of handling marks and an occasional bruise. Mirror-bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. G shoulder stock with oil darkening, a scattering of handling marks, and a two-inch crack extending down the body from the right of the faded, brown-toned hinge. Stock is a superb fit to the pistol, the lug slipping in smoothly, the attached pistol with virtually no wobble.
