Mauser Code "40" P-08 Cal. 9mm

Extremely Rare Kreighoff Gripped Mauser P-08
In 1940 Mauser ran out of wooden grips.
It was then decided that Luftwaffe General Goering who insisted that his officrs have a Commerial finished P-08 with dark brown plastic grips to seperate them from  the army officers.
Nazi High command decided to send a batch of Kreighoff grips to Mauser because they had run out of wooden ones. . This gun has the "Kreiegoff' grips.
It is in the proper year and serial number range for the Keighoff semt grips
The very few guns that received the grips were dated 1940 with the Mauser code "42" on the bolt.
This is one of those very rare guns.
The condtion of the gun itself  is outstanding,
It has retained, at the very least 99+% of the original factory blue.
The tiny loss there is, is on the the sdee plate and some sharpedge silvering typical of holsterwear..
There are no other blemishes tof any kind o be founnd.
The bolt face, feed ramp and extractor show no use. 
The bore is factory new, laser bright with razor sharp rifling, not a whisp of frost anywhere.
the Kreghoff grips are are impeccable not even a flattened point. 
All parts match except for the magazine
This awesome beauty is easly a centet piece to any collection and certainly a something to brag about
