Synopsis:
Phenomenal, original condition P.38 made by Mauser during WWII, coded byf 43, all matching with correct Mauser coded magazine, mirror bore, correct manual mechanics, with hardshell "43" dated P.38 holster. A wonderful ensemble that would be very, very difficult to upgrade!
Description:
Standard configuration Mauser P38, 9mmP, with 5 inch barrel having drift adjustable front sight and U notched rear sight. Slide marked P.38 followed by “byf/43” and serial number that is repeated on the left side of the frame, on the front of the barrel lug, and the last few digits on the locking block. Usual safety markings. Right side of slide with inspection markings. All matching with full serial number on frame, slide, barrel and last 3 digits on locking block. Fitted with brown composition grips and a “P.38” magazine with E/135 acceptance on spine. Complete with a black leather hard shell holster, draw strap intact, obverse surface marked with "bdr43", WaA86 acceptance, and a large "P.38". No spare magazine.
Condition:
Crisp 99.8+ original finish with negligible sharp edge in usual places, no thinning of trigger guard or frontstrap. Comparable condition grips. VG+ magazine. Mirror bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Near excellent hard shell holster with intact stitching showing no repairs or touch-up. A gorgeous, all-original pistol with matching-dated hardshell holster from World War II!
