Description:
Rare 1906/34 Mauser Banner Portuguese Contract Luger whose production was limited to fewer than 700 guns, scattered examples having been noted in the serial number range 2065v-2551v. SN: 2301v. Cal. .30 Luger. Standard configuration 1906/34 Portuguese Contract with 4.75” barrel, drift front sight and fixed “V” notch rear sight. GNR on chamber and Mauser banner on toggle, with Crown/U under barrel and left side of receiver. Full serial number on left receiver, under barrel, and on forward frame. All small parts are matched “01” several of them with an"84" sub-inspection. Unmarked magazine with blued body and aluminum plug. Major components are blued; takedown lever, trigger, safety, ejector, magazine release are strawed. Toggle pin and grip screws are fire blued. Complete with holster "2259" and combined cleaning rod/oiler. Missing punch and take down tool.
Condition:
Approximately 98-99% professionally refurbished finish with sharp markings and flat planes. Comparable condition strawed parts. The fire bluing on the grip screws with dome fading, no suggestion of enhancement. Oil darkened grips with diamond blunting, particularly in a small area under the safety. VG-EXC magazine. Dull bore with shallow rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Crisp holster and VG-EXC cleaning rod with verdigris. A very attractive and scarce Portuguese Luger, with Mauser Banner, seldom offered for sale.
