1943 Remington Rand 1911A1

Description:
I have for sale an excellent plus condition 1943 Remington Rand, arsenal overhauled at Augusta Arsenal (stamped AA on frame to the left of the slide stop). Overall condition is about 95%, refinished by AA. Has superb condition original blued High Standard barrel (stamped HS on the R lug). All correct Remington Rand parts to include the 8 rib RR mainspring housing, but with the exception of it has a Union Switch and Signal hammer. Also has checkered slide stop, correct for 1943. Other interesting overhaul use of parts- the hammer, the left grip is Coltwood, the right grip is Keyes Fiber. Mish-mash of parts not unusual for this type of gun. Also interesting is that it has the Type 3 small logo on the slide, but is in the position of where the Type 2 logo would be (further to the left and lower). Also, under the triggerguard there is a faint teardrop shaped that can barely be seen and felt; it most resembles what today we would call undercutting the triggerguard for a better grip. Never seen this before. Crossed cannon arsenal stamp is very faint, but visible. Comes with an original "R" stamped (Risdon) WWII 7 rd. blued magazine. Looks like small freckling/pit spots on left edge of slide, but may be dinged up from use. Overall a great pistol. A must for a WWII collection. Asking $2500. All sales final/no returns.
