A.Waters1837 percussion converted pistol
Description: An original, admirable example of a Asa Waters 1837 converted to percussion single shot as see in Flayderman's catalog #6A-039, with a 8 1/2" barrel of .54 caliber, most likely converted before or during the Civil War with a side bolster and high spur hammer. The action works very. as well as the captured ram-rod. The American black walnut stock has turned dark from handling, and the side opposite the lock has a age/stress crack but not open or loose.Possibly a confederate conversion by the use of certain materials.Overall a good exmple for it's age.
