Early 1800s Antique British MILITARY Pattern .58 FLINTLOCK Pistol CROWN/GR
“TOWER” and “CROWN/GR” Marked Pistol
Description: Early 1800s Antique British MILITARY Pattern .58 FLINTLOCK Pistol CROWN/GR “TOWER” and “CROWN/GR” Marked Pistol Here we present an antique British Military Style Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early 1800s in London, England. This example could possibly have seen service during the War of 1812. Since the conclusion of the War of 1812, historians have long debated the relative weight of the multiple reasons underlying its origins. During the 19th century, historians generally concluded that war was declared largely over national honor, neutral maritime rights and the British seizure of neutral ships and their cargoes on the high seas. Ultimately, the War of 1812 ended in a draw on the battlefield, and the peace treaty reflected this. The Treaty of Ghent was signed in modern-day Belgium on December 24, 1814, and went into effect on February 17, 1815, after both sides had ratified it. This agreement provided for returning to the status quo ante bellum, which meant that the antagonists agreed to return to the state that had existed before the war and restore all conquered territory. Overall condition is good. The action could be stronger, but fully functions. Good bore for its age with some light verdigris. Solid wood, average handling wear. Some hardware has been replaced. Markings are legible. The barrel top and lock are engraved. An inscription is present on the placard, possibly reading “JL”. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-3/4 inches. Caliber: .58 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
