WWII Radom Vis 35 Bringback Pistol Sweetheart Grips Rare BNZ 43 Holster
Description: Serial #P4178, 9mm, 4 ½ inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a WWII German Waffenampt marked Polish VIS Radom Model 35 pistol. It has been reported to us that this pistol was given to the former owner by the family of the soldier who brought it home. It was captured by a US Soldier "Mr. Fellows" and carried by him in the European Theatre of Operation during the war where he made grips from parts from a downed German "Fieseler Storch" observation plane. A brief hand written provenance accompanies the gun and states "This pistol was taken from a German officer in Poland and carried throughout the E.T.O. By a Mr. Fellows. Pictures of him w/Mother and his wife on the grips." Under the plexiglass he placed photos of his wife and one with his mother. When the gun was given to the previous owner these photos were replaced by photocopies. The semi-automatic pistol remains in excellent condition and was part of the first Alphabet series having E/77 markings and shows the somewhat crude finishing of the German occupation built guns. The frame and slide retain about 90-95% of the original finish with silvering at the muzzle and wear areas with some light use marks. The grips remain in excellent condition. It comes with two original phosphate finished magazines. The rare original holster is marked "bnz" "1943" "P35(p)" produced by Steyr and was most likely using labor from the Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration camp located outside Steyr, Austria. The holster remains supple with very thin leather and shows repairs to the stitching of one belt loop and has added leather material to repair tears near the hammer and sight areas that perforated the material. A fantastic bringback pistol that will add to any WWII collection. There is no provenance with this gun and we are not even sure of Mr. Fellows first name. But that is the story and we will pass it along. FFL or C&R; Price: $3,495.00 Contact Seller |
