Description:
Scarce Bergmann Bayard 1910-21, 9mmBB, as made in Liege, Belgium for the Danish Military, updated in 1939 with a spanner screw to retain the sideplate and oversized smooth wood grips, this example with a Danish replacement frame, bolt, and barrel. Standard configuration single action locked breech pistol with 4” barrel having fixed front and rear sights. Left side of barrel extension with usual manufacturer marking and location in Liege. Belgian proofs on the right side of the barrel extension. Danish issue number 225 on the right side of the frame. Serial number 5920 surmounted by "Crown/DK" inspection marking under frame extension, the serial number repeated on the firing pin and the last few digit on inner surface of each grip. Correct but mismatched magazine, closely numbered "5933". Fixed lanyard loop. Complete with early holster with shoulder strap.
Synopsis:
Scarce Bergmann 1910-21, as updated by the Danish Arsenal in 1939, matching grips, holster.
Condition:
VG original condition with sharp edge wear, areas of discoloration/oxidation, particulary on the right side of the barrel, as carefully photographed. Most of the original fireblue remains on the extractor. In the white parts, with expected staining and discolorations, no suggestions of enhancement. Comparable condition grips, oil darkened with superficial handling marks. Mirror bright bore with easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A scarce military pistol, reflecting an unusual rework, especially with a matching firing pin and grips, together with an original holster.
