Synopsis:
All-matching Kongsberg Arsenal Norwegian 1914 Pistol, cal .45 ACP, dated 1945 with assembly in 1947, with original grips and magazine, accompanied by an original wax sealed factory letter detailing its production history.
Description:
Standard configuration Norwegian model 1914, caliber .45ACP, this example dated 1945, ALL MATCHING with correct, original grips, and magazine. Left side of slide with usual Norwegian reference with respect to caliber, model, and serial number. The right side of slide is dated 1945. Serial number is repeated on all major and minor components including the frame, slide release, trigger, safety, grip safety, main spring housing, and barrel. By this time, Kongsberg was not numbering the hammer, barrel bushing, magazine release, or the recoil spring guide. Grips and magazine were never numbered. Major and most minor components with original matte finish. Case hardened hammer. Fire blued extractor. Late magazine with lanyard loop. NO IMPORT MARKS! Complete with factory letter issued by the Kongsberg curator detailing the production/proofing of this pistol that was in 1947 despite the 1945 slide date, reflecting later assembly of previously marked parts, and signed to include a partial red wax seal.
Condition:
VG/excellent original matte finish with sharp edge wear and scuffs as so frequently seen in late war and these early post war pistols. Comparable condition grips that retain most of the black lacquer finish except near the grip screws. Bright bore with easily discernible rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Near excellent original curator signed letter though much of the red wax seal has disintegrated.
