Swedish Husqvarna Air Force Issued M40 9mm Pistol

Description:
The Husqvarna M40 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm with a 8+1 round capacity.  The M40 is of Finnish design, patterned after the L35 Lahti and that shows as it was built to be operated by gloved hands. Deep slide serrations allow for easy retraction of the slide while a large trigger guard and protruding safety catch are also designed specifically for gloved hands. Diamond checkered hard plastic grips ensure users have a secure grasp on this pistol.

This M40 was issued to and used by the Swedish Västgöta Air Force Group designated by the F6 stamping on the left side of the slide.  An encircled SÅS inspector stamp idenifying Sven Åke Sundhagen, who controlled pistols for the Air Force, is located on the back side of the slide.  The gun is number matching and has the appropriate proof stamps as indicated in the pictures.  The M40 also has the backstrap cut for a removable shoulder stock that is interchangeable with the Luger stock.  There are no visible import marks.

With over 82,000 units produced this M40 sports a four-digit serial number.  This particular unit has been refurbished at a Military service station as indicated by the 2 dots on the rear grip.  It appears that the barrel may have been replaced at this time since as it has the nut at the end of the barrel at the breech along with the squared front site base.  The bore is shiny with strong rifling.  This gun has been professionally refinished at some point. 

Comes with the appropriate Air Force issued black leather holster,  3 original magazines, cleaning rod, and multi-use tool with screwdriver end and opening to assisting in loading the magazines. Note:  The multi-use tool has the Finnish "SA" proof mark which indicates that it was originally made for the Finnish L35 Lahti which is considerably rarer than the M40.
