Remington Model 1871 Army Rolling Block Pistol chambered in .50CF w/ 8" Barrel ** US Govt 1 of 5000 **

Description:
The last of the single-shot martial pistols, this Model 1871 Remington rolling block is chambered .50 CF with an 8-inch barrel.  Approximately 5,000 were purchased by the U.S. Government and have an inspector's cartouche on the left grip, "CRS", for Curtis R. Slicknet. This gun is 100% original and retains some of its original blue on the barrel and a small amount of the case coloring is still visible on the frame. The original forend and grip are still intact but do show signs of handling and various dings/dents. The grip still retains its original "C.R.S." cartouche but does have a light crack on the bottom of the right side. The grips still fit well to the frame and are numbers matching (1803). The bore of the 8" barrel still shows strong rifling but is pitted throughout.
