Super Original Flint Simeon North Model 1816 .54 Cal US Martial Pistol Civil War

Description:
Gun is still in original flint. The metal appears to have been cleaned at some point, markings on lock are clear but weak, could just be the stamping as well. Barrel proofs are nice and sharp. Fine mechanical function. The metal on this is bright. Fine bore. .54 caliber, smoothbore. 9 inch barrel. Wood has some dings and handling marks with a clear cartouche on the left side opposite the lock. Nice clear P over US barrel marking. The wood ramrod appears to be original, with the iron tip for cleaning. Really a super example. Many of these were used, still in the flint configuration, early on during the Civil War by Confederate soldiers.
