This Mauser S/42 1939 dated 9mm P.08 with matching magazine has the early proof marks. The 4"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The chamber is dated 1939 and the toggle is marked S/42. The receiver has two eagle over 63 military inspection acceptance marks and the eagle test firing proof. All numbers, including the small parts, match. One grip panel is stamped with the last two digits of the serial number and the other is marked in pencil. The gun has approx. 92% blue with some fading on the left side of the barrel, the side plate, and grip straps. The grips are very good with the left panel having a bruise. The action functions correctly. The brown holster, with a correct nonmatching aluminum base magazine and tool, is fine. It has tight stitching and is marked on the rear R. EHRHARDT over POESSNECK with 1939 to the right. A set of initials between these markings has been scratched out. The early proof 1939 S/42 pistols are uncommon, especially with a matching magazine. This rig is ready for any WWII collection.
