This Mauser P.08 has a 1940 chamber date and 42 code toggle. The 4"" 9mm barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun retains approx. 92% blue with high spot wear and a couple of blemishes on the left side of the barrel. All the small parts, including the firing pin, match. Interestingly, at first glance, the magazine appears to match. However, close inspection will show that the pistol serial number is 5324 while the magazine is 5324h. The replaceent grips are like new with sharp checkering. The action funcions correctly. The brown holster, with a correct style mismatched aluminum base magazine and inspected tool, is fine. It is marked GENSCHOW & CO. A.G. BERLIN in an oval with 1940 in the center. Below that is a crisp eagle over WaA286 Waffemamt stamp. The 1940 WWII 42 Code Luger rig is a must for any WWII collection.
