The barrel had been shortened to comply with the international "Treaty of Versailles", following the fall of Germany in May 1945. Refined to a fine polished Satin White (i.e. John Martz), with contrasting high-gloss black panels and matching Mauser magazine, this piece reflects a stunning Art Deco style of the period, with excellent metal and sharply defined lines. The bore is mirror bright, strong lands and grooves. Mechanically excellent and perfect for the range and the mantel.
