Identified WWII Bring Back German FN 1922 Pistol Rig Wa140

Serial #154233, 7.63mm (.32 ACP), 4 ¾ inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a FN Model 1922 pistol manufactured under German occupation bearing the WaA140 Waffenamt proof marks produced circa 1942. This was a bring back pistol identified in the holster as that of CPL Arthur Greenwald of Manhattan, NY who enlisted February, 4, 1943 at Ft. Jay on Governor's Island, NY. In excellent condition the all matching number pistol retains about 90-95% of the original high polish blue with holster wear thinning at the muzzle and along the slide top with some scattered light use marks. It is well marked with numerous correct German proofs and retains some of the higher quality early war parts such as the flanged trigger and has the synthetic black grips cut for the lanyard loop which is not present on this example. It comes with one original "FN" marked magazine. The holster is marked "Kern Klager & Cie / 1938 / Berlin" and is marked with the soldiers name, service number as well as the gun's serial number and presumably the country where he acquired it: "A. GREENWALD. CPL / 32686013 / BELGIQUE 154233". The holster is well marked but shows wear with the flap torn, some dried and flaking on the some of the leather surface and the leather cap loose. A great WWII Bring Back pistol rig that would be fun to continue research on. FFL or C&R
