Manufactured in 1935/1936 as part of Germany's clandestine re-armament program, this Krieghoff Luger is a testament to a pivotal era in history. One of approximately 4,000 made that year by Krieghoff for the Luftwaffe, it bears the "S" date coded chamber, Krieghoff logo "H (anchor) K" above "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" on front toggle link, and "Eagle" and "Eagle/2" military proofs on various parts. All matching visible serial numbers, including both matching numbered magazines, add to their authenticity. The back side of each grip panel has the correct small circled "HRS" for the Herman Ritzmann & Sohne company and the "8964" contract number. It even comes with two opened boxes of WWII era 9mm ammunition (one box appears full, other partial), a tangible connection to the past.
